It welcomes a brand new vice chairman – specialty underwriter
The Bermuda division of QBE Re has introduced the appointment of Carmen DeSilva (pictured above) as vice chairman – specialty underwriter.
In her new position, DeSilva goals to boost the Bermuda specialty reinsurance capabilities of QBE Re. Her duties may also lengthen to the event of QBE Re’s international specialty providing.
As per her LinkedIn, DeSilva, who has over 15 years of expertise in property and specialty underwriting, joins QBE Re from her earlier roles at Platinum Underwriters and Axis Specialty.
The corporate’s determination to nominate DeSilva comes at a time when there may be rising demand for specialty and property reinsurance in Bermuda from international shoppers. This transfer is a part of QBE Re’s ongoing concentrate on sustainable development whereas optimizing its broader portfolio, with DeSilva’s addition to the staff anticipated to contribute considerably to those targets.
